Anyone Who Doesn’t Make Money In Kampala Must Be Very Lazy

A young businessman in Kampala recently shocked students at Makerere University. Shawn Tewins Mukabya aka Mr. Kampala was meeting some student entrepreneurs from Kikoni during their monthly gathering. He was the keynote speaker. In his speech, he confirmed that Kampala was the place where everything is possible.

“You can come to Kampala on Monday and by Friday, if you are really serious, you can own an apartment,” Mr. Kampala said. “I came to Kampala a few months back, now I am one of the top businesspeople. It’s easy people, you just need a brain and not be lazy. Anyone who doesn’t make money in Kampala must be very lazy.”

This statement left several student entrepreneurs shocked and perplexed. He was asked to put his statement in context. Mr. Kampala continued; ‘you see guys, this is how it works. Kampala is a big lake. You know how much money is in circulation right now? There is 29,258 billion of currency in circulation. That’s much more than the Ugandan population. Like all that money is out there. Tell me, unless you are lazy, why wouldn’t you have just a billion of that money?”

Mr. Kampala further explained; “the way I see it, Kampala is the place. Those people wasting time going to Diaspora, if they worked as hard as they will work in Diaspora, they would all be rich. Personally, I just did it in months and it’s because I was chilling so much, I was a bit lazy and distracted by my Najeera girlfriends. Meaning, I could have done it in weeks. I am telling you, even right now, if you are serious, you can make 100 million in this hour.”

BigEye.ug reached out to some of the student entrepreneurs for their reactions. One of them, Agnes Mukandi said; “for me, this is really a new thing. I know your Pastor or Lecturer can’t tell you this, but Mr. Kampala made it clear.”

Moses Mukiibi on the other hand commented; “Mr. Kampala has done it, why not us. I am not even attending lectures next week. I want to go and get some of this money.”
