Anne Kansiime

Comedienne Anne Kansiime is in a new campaign to end child marriage. The pint-sized funny woman with a big heart is moving to create awareness about the early marriage vice in our communities.

Speaking about child marriage, she noted that “In Uganda, 46 percent of girls marry before they reach 18 years of age. This means that half of all girls will be married off when they are still children. This has to stop!”

“I am doing whatever it takes to reach ‪‎every last child,‬” she added.

Meanwhile, Kansiime recently launched her NGO dubbed The Kansiime Foundation that is giving underprivileged children a new lease on life. The Kansiime Foundation is providing high achieving but economically disadvantaged children a real chance at quality education.
