Singer Angella Katatumba’s NGO, the Angella Katatumba Development Foundation (AKDF) has been named the charity organisation of the year. AKDF received the honour in the recently concluded StarQT Awards that were held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Angella Katatumba deservedly received the award as she has been engrossed in different charity activities through her NGO since the start of the year.
In January, Angella, through her NGO, donated Ugx 10 million to Mulago Hospital Special Care Unit which was used to purchase a Phototherapy machine and a Syringe Pump.
She was later honoured with an invitation to attend the first ever UN World Humanitarian Summit that took place in Istanbul, Turkey in February.
She also held a charity concert whose proceeds amounting to 15,000,000 UGX were donated to the Uganda Cancer Institute to continue the fight against cancer.
StarQT Awards, now in their 3rd edition, seek to recognise individuals and brands that have excelled in their various fields.
