Singer Angella Katatumba has been honoured for her humanitarian work in the 2016 Uganda Entertainment Awards.
According to Mr Ronald Kabuye, the Award Organizing Committee chairman, Angella Katatumba has been awarded the Humanitarian Noble Award in the Uganda Entertainment Awards 2016 that she will receive at the Award Giving Gala on 19th August 2016 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
This comes when Angella is set for her maiden charity concert dubbed MULAGO YAFFE at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday 01st July 2016 at 6PM at a ticket price of 100,000 UGX. Tables go for 5 Million for 10 People and 3 Million for 6 People. Proceeds go to Uganda Cancer Institute for the fight against Cancer.
It is remembered that in January of this year, Angella donated 10,000,000 UGX to the Intensive Care Unit at Mulago National Referral Hospital. Her donation which was used to buy a Phototherapy Machine and a Syringe Pump is saving 60 babies lives every week.
Three weeks after that, she was invited by the UN under-Secretary General H.E Stephen O’Brien to attend and perform at the first ever UN World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul Turkey. In May, Angella was recently also appointed the Face of Uganda Cancer Institute.
This year has been a successful one for the talented Philanthropist.
