Angella Katatumba receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Singer and philanthropist Angella Katatumba has been honoured.

On Saturday afternoon, the singer received a Lifetime Achievement award from Bweyogerere Rotary Club for her outstanding support to charity.

She could not hide her excitement about the honour, noting that she was extremely humbled to be awarded.

This comes at a time when the singer is gearing up for a charity drive slated for Friday, June 30 at Hotel Africana. Angella will be performing at the event aimed at raising funds for the construction of a home for Angel’s Center children with special needs.

Angel’s Center in Nansana takes care of kids with mental challenges to help them become self sufficient individuals in the future. The center’s goal is to accommodate at least 300 kids as opposed to the current 30 kids.

Tina Fierce’s ‘Scoop on Scoop’ Show Suspended From Urban TV

The long-awaited moment is finally here and guess what, socialite Sheila Gashumba and hubby God’s Plan are now most likely to go on a vacation comfortably without worry anymore.

This comes after media personality, Tina Fierce’s ‘Scoop on Scoop’ programme was suspended by Urban TV management that works under Vision Group.

Tina Fierce has in the past two weeks been involved in a bitter head-to-head exchange with Sheila Gashumba and her boyfriend. The love birds came out strong on Fierce for using her TV show to maliciously attack them and demean them and put them into disrepute.

The couple termed Tina’s actions as ‘Cyber Bullying’ and immediately ran a campaign dubbed ‘Stop Cyber Bullying in Uganda’ and it has had an impressive following with different stems of people in the country joining it.

The two love birds have also tried-out dragging Tina and her bosses in courts of law as they issued an ‘intention to sue’ notice demanding for an apology and Shs.400Million.

On receiving the news about Tina’s show suspension, Sheila Gashumba and Gods Plan have been sent in jubilation mode as they hailed God.

Tina however seems strong and not deeply bothered with her show suspension as it was expected.

Sooo to my day ones… the show will be back but I will be one bigger fool if I don’t see this thru to the end. Sheilah Gashumba you wanted to go legal… lets. To my fans and to the fans of the show, am good nd we shall be back after, love you all,” wrote Tina.

It’s not clear for how long the famous show has been suspended though the management announced that it will be back soon.

Many could have forgotten about thr kate singer Mowzey Radio but fast rising Faymous is not among. Faymous of the Kigwo fame over the weekend paid a visit to the home of the late singer Radio and paid his last respects.

Faymous also had a chat woth the late’s mother and also aided her home with house hold items and some upkeep.

The COVID 19 pandemic has been a pain for many if not all. Businesses are suffering, ordinary people too, and so is most of the world. This also includes children that need to go to school and get educated to build their future but they just cannot because of the pandemic.

With online education, some kids can keep up with school using the internet and this is what has happened to young rappers Fresh Kid and Felista.

Rajiv Ruparelia Managing Director of Kampala Parents has today donated 2 Tablet computers to young music artistes Fresh Kid and Felista to help them study their classes online from Kampala Parents through Zoom communications.

The two Kids are funded by Ruparelia Foundation for their education.

Rajiv Ruparelia the Director of Kampala Parents said that he believes this will help the youngsters learn and also serve as an example to parents to embrace technology.

We believe this can be an example to parents who are now affected by the COVID19 Pandemic. This is to call upon them to embrace such technology through such gadgets. This way, our kids will go a continue with their education because we don’t know when COVID-19 will go away.

What you must know about Bobi Wine’s successful ‘Freedom Online Concert’ live on Lake Victoria

Many musicians are not shy about expressing their political opinions nor are politicians shy about courting favor of the musical elite.  Without surprise, popular artists make lots of news, and when a popular artiste says or does something political it tends usually goes viral especially when what they say goes against expectations. Bobi Wine who is both a musician and a politician is on another game altogether. He showed this at his second lockdown concert, dubbed; ‘Freedom Online Concert’.

The main talk around town now is about his ‘Freedom Online Concert’ that went down on Sunday 28th courtesy of Freedom Foundation Africa.

Similarly, to his recently concluded ‘Ensasage mu quarantine’ concert, the virtually-produced concert was phenomenal and entertaining to watch.

His sound production was a cut above the ordinally as Solid Band’s Charlie Mugerwa gave it his all like it was the case in the first online concert.

Bobi Wine at Freedom Concert

When it comes to the visual aspect, Bobi Wine’s longtime videographer, Kim XP rendered extreme commitment as never before.

The video was alluring and constantly finer throughout despite it being an out-door and daytime event.

It being a politically themed event, Bobi Wine serenaded with his top songs that preach and advocate for freedom in the country.

He was in company of Solid Band that lit-up Bobi Wine and lines with its live music instruments along .

The crew also comprised of singer Aziz Azion executed his guitar skills that prioritized the show with such a groovy live sound.

Prominent saxophonist, Joseph Sax was also on-board as he blended the music with elite pitches from his saxophone.

The Piano/keyboard was solely dominated by legendary Ugandan music producers, Paddy Man and Tonny Houls who unleashed magical touches on Bobi’s tracks.

On advancing, Bobi Wine was joined by music partner, Nubian Li and fellow musicians; King Saha and Dr, Hilderman, comedian Patriko Mujuuka and talent manager Solomon Kayemba and they mashed-up with the ‘Tuliyambala Engule’ song.

To the digital statistics, Bobi Wine this time round gathered an average of 20,000 live viewers on his Facebook page in the 2 hours show, a figure that is less by over 10,000 viewers to his recent concluded concert which had 30,000 viewers.

Freedom Foundation Africa (FNF in Africa) is the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, an independent German organization that is committed to promoting liberal policy and politics around the world in the form of human rights, the rule of law, democracy, innovation, digitalization and free trade.

It is responsible for organizing campaigns, media events, seminars, workshops, study tours, cultural happenings and training courses.

They have activities in many countries in the region such as Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Senegal, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The foundation prioritizes human rights including freedom expression, freedom of the press, violence against women, capital punishment, children’s rights and LGBTQI+ rights.

They believe that Africa has to be free from corruption, free from red-tape, in order to be #FreeToAdvance.

All in all, it was a successful online concert that one ought to watch anytime.
