Songbird Angella Katatumba has finally handed over proceeds from her highly successful maiden concert to the Uganda Cancer Institute. Dubbed “Mulago Yaffe”, the charity concert which was held at Kampala Serena hotel on 1st July managed to raise Ugx 15 Million.
Angella, who also doubles as the face of the Uganda Cancer Institute, handed over a Ugx 15 million cheque to Crown Healthcare Ltd who will work with the cancer institute to buy the needed equipment with in that budget for the cancer patients.
Speaking at an event held at the Uganda cancer Institute, Angella extended her gratitude to revelers who attended her concert in support of this cause.
“I am very grateful for the all support at the ‘Mulago Yaffe’ concert. I want to give special thanks to all those that did not only buy tickets but also made donations like Rajiv Ruparelia who spearheaded the donations with Ugx 5 Million.” She said, “We give publicly to encourage others to do the same so that we can keep such noble causes going.”
Meanwhile, Crown Healthcare Ltd who will supply the cancer equipment were motivated by Angella’s big heart and promised to work with her and also make a contribution towards the fight against cancer.
“We have been touched by Angella Katatumba’s work towards the fight against cancer. We hope to partner with her and also donate a blood bank to the Uganda Cancer Institute as we celebrate 10 years in Uganda.” David, manager Crown Health Care Ltd said.
