Our independent survey has confirmed Angella Katatumba as the most followed artiste on facebook in Uganda, a position Bebe Cool had held since last year. Angella Katatumba stands at a cool 166,127 followers( by the time of this survey.)
However, most of her fans are not in Uganda but based in Instabul, Turkey. She shares her family photos, media reports from news websites, links to her songs and videos and personal projects. However, the comments and likes on her posts do not reflect the number of her followers, so flattering to deceive.
Bebe Cool is undoubtedly the true king of social media in the country. By turning his facebook page to the “official Gagamel noticeboard”, Bebe Cool makes all announcements concerning his music group like expulsion on the page. He makes his personal attacks on other artistes on the page, a move that earns him over 1,000 comments. He attracts controversy and keeps his facebook fans waiting.
He shares links to his new songs, videos and those of other Gagamel artistes but for unknown reason,he abstains from sharing articles about him. This article may break that virginity! He commands 85,535 followers.
Juliana Kanyomozi takes bronze, almost neck to neck with Bebe Cool with 80,538 followers. Apollo Kagimu like Katatumba have more non-Ugandan followers than Ugandans.
Navio the fifth on our list, shares every thing about him online, From videos, songs, download links, articles about him and tour updates. For his efforts, he has 46,543 followers. Jose Chameleone come fifth with 41,760 followers, Desire Luzinda follows, then Maurice Kirya.
