This week, Uganda’s celebrated journalist, Andrew Mwenda got his Facebook Page verified. In the past, a number of Facebook pages had been opened up in his names which made it hard to separate his official one from the rest.
Facebook finally gave the Old Man of The Clan that long awaited blue tick. He’s currently one of the most followed Ugandans on Twitter with over 120,000 followers and we hope Twitter too will verify his account.
Andrew Mwenda is the editorial and strategy director at Independent Magazine. In the past, he’s been ranked as one of the top 100 thinkers in the world by a Foreign Policy Magazine.
On hearing the news of Mwenda’s verified page, Tamale Mirundi assured his fans that his page would follow as he considers himself the most intelligent political scientist in Uganda. He made these remarks while tapping on his head saying; “omutwe gunno gunno.”
