Andrew Felix Kawesa threatens to arrest artistes that will not show up for concerts they are advertised for

The director of operations Uganda Police Afande Felix Kaweesi while addressing the media at the police headquarters in Naguru warned artistes who don’t show up at events on which they are expected to perform.

He said that many people have already started coming out to complain about artistes who appear on posters for certain shows and instead give excuses when people fail to see them performing. When he tried to consult musicians what causes this, he was told that many promoters like putting artistes on posters before they consult them and when they fail to agree, they go on and use the same posters and this has continuously tainted their name.

Among artistes that Afande Kaweesi pointed out was Dr. Jose Chameleone who was recently summoned for allegedly failing to show up for a concert organized by a Reverend whose name was withheld.

He therefore warned them that they should endeavor to respect the schedules especially in these hype days of Christmas as many of them will be at high demand and whoever fails to do so will be charged for extortion. “We shall arrest anyone whom people pay for and doesn’t show up,” he warned.
