Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that his side will redeem themselves when they face Barcelona in a La Liga clash on Sunday.
When the two sides met at the Camp Nou earlier this season the match ended 2-1 in favour of the Catalans with Neymar Junior and Alexis Sanchez scoring for Barcelona, before Jese Rodriguez scored an injury time consolation for the Whites.
However, Madrid are the form side going into Sunday’s clash and are currently occupying pole position with 70 points, four points ahead of Barcelona.
“I’m certain we’ll be better than in the first game,” Ancelotti told reporters. “It’s an open game.
“I don’t think it will decide La Liga, because there’s also Atletico there, who are very close. La Liga will be decided on the final day.”
Ancelotti also stated that he knows his starting lineup for Sunday’s clash, but lamented the loss of Jese, who sustained a serious injury during a Champions League clash on Tuesday.
“We already know (the lineup) and it’s not that difficult. I’m not going to complicate things,” he said.
“We’ve been unlucky with the injury of Jese. We can confirm it’s a cruciate ligament injury and the season is over for him.
“He had been doing really well in his first season in the first-team.
“The same thing happened to me at the same age and later, I still managed to make a career. We’ll have to wait and see, but encouragement and luck to him.”
