In a candid statement, popular Ugandan singer, songwriter, and producer Daddy Andre questioned the recent appointment of fellow musician Eddy Kenzo as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Creatives.
Daddy Andre expressed strong doubts about Kenzo’s qualifications for the advisory role, citing Kenzo’s lack of formal education as a barrier to his effectiveness.
“How can a person who is illiterate like Eddy Kenzo be my advisor in the creative sector, yet he knows nothing?” Daddy Andre remarked live on Sanyuka TV.
“That is a total shame. I will not sit there and wait for him to come advise me on something that he doesn’t understand.“
The comments come just months after Kenzo, who also serves as the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) President, was given the advisory role.
Since the appointment, Kenzo has faced public and industry criticism over his suitability for the position, with many questioning his capacity to address complex issues in Uganda’s creative sector.
