According to Mr. Walusimbi, the ‘Lonely’ crooner cited investment opportunities in Uganda to explore especially following his recent move of buying a mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“Akon will be arriving in the country tomorrow, Thursday and is coming as a potential investor. He will be here to explore more investment opportunities,” Mr. Abbey Walusimbi said.
One of the investments paramount on Akon’s list is the Akon city like one he established back home in Senegal.
“Indeed, if all goes well, you never know he might end up setting another Akon city in Uganda,” he added.
Akon is said to move with a delegation of CEOs representing over 13 companies from the USA, Turkey, UK, and France.
Akon’s visit to Uganda happens close to a month ever since his wife Rozina Negusei’s also focusing on investment in the country under her company Zanar Entertainment, Entreeg Records & Entreeg Entertainment Group.
During her encounter with President Museveni, Negusei pledged an investment worth $12M USD in Uganda’s entertainment sector running for 5years.
