Forest Whitaker in Uganda

Celebrated American actor and producer, Forest Whitaker has visited Uganda again.

The “Last King of Scotland” star, who was in the country in early February to champion peace and development initiatives in Northern Uganda, has returned. On his earlier visit, Whitaker visited refugee resettlement camps in Gulu and conducted training workshops for the young people at the Hope North centre in Kiryandongo.

The actor who is also the UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation is back to Uganda to launch a youth program and work with a new group of youth peacemakers in Acholi sub-region under his organization known as Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative (WPDI).

“Excited to be in Uganda this week for the launch of our youth program & work with a new group of youth peace makers in Acholi sub-region,” he tweeted.
