Kirinya Jinja SS FC head coach Alex Isabirye has resigned from his job at the Jinja based side.

The former Bul FC and URA FC tactician was appointed as head coach for the league debutants at the start of this season but frustration has forced him to resign just before the half season.

“Sincerely, I have to let this job go. I think I do not have the good luck at the club. We are the most attack minded in the whole league but we do not score. We have managed just four goals from the hundreds of chances created,” coach Isabirye is quoted on Kawowo.

Before their 1-0 loss to Proline FC on Tuesday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Kirinya were still winless in this campaign, something that forced the former SC Victoria University boss to resign.

Kirinya are currently second bottom on the 16-team log with nine points from nine draws and have recorded five losses following their defeat to Proline yesterday.

Coach Abbey ‘Capello’ Kikomeko who guided the side from the FUFA Big league last season and has also been deputy to Isabirye takes on the mantle of head coach as they conclude the first round of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).

It remains to be known whether he will be left as interim coach for the rest of the season and try to guide the club of relegation.
