The defending champions of the Uganda Cup, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC), will represent Uganda at this year’s CAF Confederations Cup that is due next month. The tax collectors will clash with Madagascar based side Elgeco Plus in the preliminary stages of the campaign. The winner will then proceed to face off with South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the next round.

“URA FC will start their campaign on February 13 at home in Kampala with a return leg on February 27 in Madagascar,” confirms a statement on the club’s official website.

Isabirye who reunited with the club on Monday for training after attending a CAF coaching course at the Njeru technical center in Jinja is well aware of the recent poor performance of Ugandan clubs at continental tournaments and said that his side is ready to give everything they can to have the team reach high stages of the tournament.

“I have little knowledge about them but we’ll look to a better game such that we advance to the next round. I have no choice but to ensure that we give everything we have to make a good campaign,” reads a statement on the club’s website.
