The National Social Security Fund, during their 3rd Annual Members Meeting, awarded Airtel Uganda 1st Runner Up in the GOLD Category Award involving over 1800 Employers.
The Members Meeting that attracted over 500 people, including NSSF contributors, employers, workers unions’ representatives, government representatives and members of the public was held to update its members and other stakeholders on the state, performance, goals and outlook of the Fund. The fund also used the forum to receive feedback and respond to concerns from members through an interactive session.
The awards were based on NSSF regulations compliance and Audit pass, wholesome contribution to the fund as well as Timely remittance of contributions to NSSF.
On receiving the award, Airtel Uganda Human Resources Director, Mrs. Flavia Ntambi Lwanga said, “We are delighted that the NSSF has recognized us for this award. We take pride in upholding the company’s obligations towards our employees, and adhering to our statutory obligations as an ethical business.”
Other award categories included 2 Silver Awards, 2 Bronze Awards, and several Regional awards.
The winners were selected basing on a “360 degrees compliance test” – a test which refers to a situation where an employer remits all due contributions in a timely manner, registers all employees and has no contributions arrears.
