Airtel Uganda continued their signature country-wide Ramadan Special giveaways when they visited Kibuli mosque and hospital on Tuesday and handed over foodstuffs such as rice, maize flour and sugar to assist them prepare for Iftar during this Holy Month.
As part of this Ramadan initiative, the telecommunications company will visit 19 districts around the country supporting Muslim communities there.
“During this Holy season, we are reaching out to the community we operate in and carrying out a very important pillar of Islam – giving alms. Through this initiative, we are keeping with the traditions of this holy month and staying connected to our customers,” commented Ali Balunywa, the Airtel Uganda Sales Director.
Shiek Mutyaba Abdul Salam, the Executive Imam of Kibuli mosque and Sister Rashidah Nabukalu the Principal Nursing Officer received the donations on behalf of Kibuli mosque and Kibuli hospital. They thanked Airtel Uganda for the kind gesture and encouraged Ugandans to emulate these acts of selflessness especially during Ramadan.
Airtel will be visiting different communities and mosques in the districts of; Kampala, Masaka, Mbale, Mbarara, Lira, Kamuli, Fortportal, Gulu, Iganga, Hoima, Jinja, Arua, Tororo, Kabale and many others.
