Airtel Uganda reduces calling rates

In a bid to remain customer centric and provide affordable products, Airtel Uganda has announced a tariff reduction in its calling rates across all networks.

The rates have been reduced from a flat rate of Ush4  per second to Ush3 per second for clients calling to other networks or Airtel to Airtel. The new Tariff is for prepaid customers as postpaid customers already enjoy Ush3 per second across all networks.

According to Mr V.G Somasekhar, the Airtel Uganda Managing Director, Airtel is committed to serve customers with quality network at the most affordable rates.

“We always commit to affordability and simplicity in our operations. When you make any call, from anywhere at any time you are guaranteed to spend only Ush3 per second. A minute is as low as Ush180 across all networks,” he said.

Airtel is the fastest growing telecom brand in Uganda resulting from the extensive network rollout that has happened in the last one year to build Uganda’s only 100% 4G network.

Airtel currently boasts of 1,632 sites and over 3,900 kilometers of fiber across Uganda covering 95.9% population, making it possible for subscribers around the country to enjoy an improved experience in internet based activities.

Two new whisky brands from Scotland  have hit the Ugandan Market.

The brands are manufactured in Scotland by Premier Distillers Ltd. The most sought-after whiskys in the world -Old Glen and 9 Barrels have already hit the Ugandan market. In fact as you read this, two whisky experts from Scotland landed in the country on Tuesday for the official launch this Thursday 4 July at Hotel Africana. It’s also worth noting that it’s an invite only corporate event.Scotch Whisky is a unique alcoholic drink, produced only in Scotland. For it to be legally called “Scotch Whisky”. It’s distilled in Scotland from water, yeast, malted barley and other cereals.It’s then matured in oak wood casks for a minimum of 3 years for it to bring out a unique taste and blend.

Spirit is produced in the traditional batch process of mashing, fermentation, distillation in copper stills, and maturation. Blended Scotch Whisky is made from a mixture of single malt and grain Scotch whiskies, which have been expertly selected to complement one another. Those who have tasted the whisky reveal that is has a sense of class and that it is fit for all social circles.
