airtel beraakoAirtel Uganda, in another wave of innovation has launched a new data service for its customers labelled “Data Beerako”.

Airtel’s “Data Beerako” is a first of its kind – “data (internet bundle) credit service” in Africa, allowing customers to borrow a data bundle, when they do not have enough airtime balance to load a data bundle. With this facility, customers can now get uninterrupted internet service on their mobilephone, while completing their important internet transactions.

Airtel Uganda prepaid subscribers need to dial *143# to request for this facility.

To qualify for the service, a subscriber must have been on the Airtel network for a minimum period of 90 days, and cumulatively recharged a minimum of 10,000 shillings. Customer can borrow as many times as they like, provided they have cleared all previous obligations.

Commenting on the launch, Airtel Uganda, Managing Director Mr. Arindam Chakrabarty said, “This innovation is intended to provide the convenience of uninterrupted internet facility, to our valued prepaid customers. We expect penetration of mobile internet to improve further with this facility, and this is in line with our objective of continuously adding value to our customers.

We remain committed to become the most loved brand in the daily lives of our people.”

Airtel Uganda continues to set the pace in innovations and delivering customer value. It can be recalled that Airtel Uganda recently launched the “Enyongeza” promotion offer, the Social Media pack, the Pay Bill promotion, and Bifuna Kilalu promotion, among several other services. One can only look forward to many more customer- centred innovations from Airtel Uganda.
