Airtel Uganda commenced its signature country-wide Ramadan Special giveaways on Friday at Gadafi National Mosque where they gave away foodstuffs which included rice, maize flour, and sugar among others.

The foodstuffs will be distributed to 19 beneficiary districts around the country to support Muslim communities as they prepare for Iftar during this Holy Month.

“We are strongly committed to the community we operate in. Giving alms is one of the pillars of Islam. Our intention is to keep with the traditions of this auspicious time of the year in the Islamic calendar and as well stay connected with customers,” Mr Ali Balunywa, the Airtel Uganda Sales Director said during the handover ceremony at Gaddafi National Mosque.

Management of Gadafi National Mosque thanked Airtel for the gesture and encouraged Ugandans to emulate these acts of selflessness especially during Ramadan.

Airtel will be visiting different communities and mosques in the districts of; Kampala, Masaka, Mbale, Mbarara, Lira, Kamuli, Fortportal, Gulu, Iganga, Hoima, Jinja, Arua, Tororo, Kabale and many others.
