The Adopt A School program is an initiative by Airtel Uganda in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports to select or, “adopt” a school, and go on to improve all of its facilities including classrooms and libraries. Since its inception, this program has ensured access to quality education for hundreds of underprivileged children in different communities where the four adopted schools are located.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Mrs. Flavia Ntambi Lwanga, the Human Resource Director Airtel Uganda said;
“Airtel believes that quality education is the most important tool for the social – economic development of Uganda.”
Ntambi also noted that starting this year, Airtel will put more focus on development of ICT in schools. “We believe that with a focus on ICT, we shall offer Ugandan learners access to modern learning tools, research facilities and collaborative classrooms to form a more rounded learning experience,” she added.
