Airtel Uganda has announced its sponsorship of this year’s Kampala City Festival; the announcement was made during a press conference held at the Kampala City Council Authority offices to launch the 2015 edition of the festival.

Started in 2012, as part of celebrations to mark 50 years of Uganda’s Independence, the Kampala City Festival brings together thousands of residents in an all-day, colorful celebration that concludes with performances from top local artistes.

Organized under the theme ‘Color and Climate Change,’ this year’s festival is expected to attract approximately two million people from in and out of Uganda.

Speaking at the press conference, Airtel Uganda Brand Assets and Properties Manager Noela Byuma said Airtel Uganda is proud to partner with Kampala City Council Authority in the creation of “…a strong tradition and legacy that celebrates Kampala’s finer points.”

“We are delighted to be a part of celebrations that bring us together with both our leaders and our customers. We applaud KCCA for the resounding efforts to successfully create an event of this magnitude and the opportunity offered to us as partners and sponsor. We look forward to achieving great success together,” she concluded.
