In a bid to access specialized treatment for his cancerous leg, ailing singer Daudi Mugema is set to be flown to Turkey, facilitated by Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

The initiative comes as a glimmer of hope for Mugema, whose deteriorating health condition has been a cause for concern.

According to a recent post shared by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, he took with him the “Katonda Wabanaku Teyebaka” singer to meet Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Fatih AK.

It was from there that Mr. Faith played a pivotal role in expediting the necessary processes for Mugema’s transfer to Istanbul, Turkey.

The ambassador’s involvement underscores the collaborative effort to ensure Mugema receives the urgent medical attention he requires.

“This morning, our brother Daudi Mugema and I have met with the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Fatih AK at his office in Kololo. We would like to express our profound gratitude to my good friend, His Excellence Fatih, for expediting the processes required for the transfer of our brother to Istanbul, Turkey for specialized treatment of his cancerous leg. I’m glad to note that all is now set for our brother to set off. More prayers needed,” stated Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

The revelation of Mugema’s troubling health condition surfaced earlier this year when he sought financial support from the public. The move garnered widespread attention and compassion from well-wishers who rallied to assist him in accessing the necessary medical care.

The impending journey to Turkey signifies a crucial turning point in Mugema’s battle against cancer. With the support of diplomatic channels and community efforts, Mugema is poised to embark on a path towards recovery, bolstered by the prospect of receiving specialized treatment abroad.
