Manchester City assistant manager Ruben Cousillas has played down the fears concern about the hamstring injury sustained by striker Sergio Aguero in the 2-1 defeat at Barcelona.
The Argentina forward, who scored 26 goals this season, has started just 15 of City’s 26 league matches this term as a result of hamstring and calf injuries and was forced off at half-time in the Nou Camp.
Pellegrini’s assistant Ruben Cousillas is hopeful that the injury is minor.
“It is very early, so we cannot say how long he is going to be out,” Rubén Cousillas said.
“Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but he felt some pain. It is more a precaution, but we are doing some tests to assess it.”
The 25 years old will have a scan on his return to Manchester.
He said: “I felt a twinge in the leg early on after a challenge with Messi. I carried on with it for the rest of the half but at half-time we decided not to risk it.”
The Capital one Cup winners lost the second leg of their last-16 tie 2-1 against Barcelona on Tuesday, resulting in a 4-1 aggregate defeat and they are now only focusing on Premier league Title.
