Ugandans came out on social media days after the Afrimma awards nomination lists were unveiled with several opinions.
Most of them showed their dissatisfaction with the nomination list this year, saying Some artiste nominations were questionable.
Leila Kayondo’s nomination was not received lightly either. A fan tweeted ‘’I have given up on African Awards after seeing Leila Kayondo and Juliana Kanyomozi in the best female artist of the year category in th Afrimmas.”
This was just one of a series of comments made by Ugandan music fans. Leila Kayondo has however played deaf to all the comments and asked fans to help her bring the award home to the Ugandan family ‘adding that for those who are mad saying “I don’t deserve it, they should chill. We doing this.”
Other artists in that category are Victoria Kimani –Kenya,Vanessa Mdee –Tanzania,Leila Kayondo –Uganda’Knowles Butera -Rwanda, Rema-Uganda, Akothee-Kenya, Nandy-Tanzania, Sheebah-Uganda, Juliana Kanyomozi –Uganda and Charly and NINA-Rwanda.
