The CBA Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto show is back. The event which showcases vintage automobiles returns for the 8th edition on Saturday, July 27 at the Sheraton Gardens.
Announcing this year’s edition, Dr. John Baptist Niwagaba, the Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto show proprietor, said that this year’s show will big and better with more fun and prizes for participants.
To be held under the theme, “Love of the machines”, the event is expected to attract exhibitors from across the region including Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
“We have increased the number of categories in which participants will compete in from 20 to 25 with new categories including Best Garage, Best Mechanic and Best Collectible.” Niwagaba said. “In line with our theme this year, we want to celebrate and reward the growing love for vintage restoration with in Uganda and the rest of East Africa.”
Speaking at the launch, CBA Bank CEO Anthony Ndegwa, noted that the bank is passionate about the car show because it is a space where the bank interacts with its clients and public in a fun-filled environment. He acknowledged the tremendous work done by Uganda Vintage team, pledging to support event for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Uganda’s legendary music group, Afrigo Band will be the other attraction at this year’s event. Famous for songs like “Jim”, “Oswadde Nnyo”, “Speend Control” and “Olumbe Lw’obwavu” among others, they have been announced as the main entertainers for the day.
