Afrigo Band, known for their hit singles like Sikulimba, Speed Kendeeza, Olumbe lwo’bwavu and many others, will celebrate their 40th anniversary in a show scheduled for 21st November at Hotel Africana. The band was formed by a group of eight musicians led by their band leader and alto saxophonist Moses Matovu, who has continued to lead the band on their 40th anniversary.
Billed to be the best show of the year, the band is expected to take fans on a music journey as they perform their songs from way back in the 90’s to their most recent ones.
“We are going to perform for three hours non stop. I am going to play different saxophones so all our fans from the ones of the 90’s to the ones of the new millennium should all come and experience the best show of the year,” said Moses Matovu.
“People are used to seeing me drumming with the hands but this time around I am going to use my head. I will give our fans the best,” added Herman Sewanyana.
Tickets to the show go for 5 Million, 3 Million and 250K (general). Gates will open at 6pm as guests are treated to a cocktail party and performances will kickoff at 8pm.
