Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards will today hold their first continental launch in the southern African nation of Namibia at the Windhoek Fashion Week.
The continental launch of the awards, which are held in partnership with CÎROC Ultra-Premium vodka, will also include a meet-and- greet segment with some of the 2016 ASFAs nominees, as well as leading fashion and pop personalities from southern Africa.
Some of the personalities expected to attend the ASFAs continental launch include David Tlale, Trevor Stuurman, Bonang Matheba, Lauren Gebhardt, Adriano Visagie, and Sanele Xaba, all of whom are nominees for this year’s ASFAs.
“The launch will also include media tours and appearances by the team across different media houses in the beautiful city of Windhoek. This launch is part of a continental takeover by the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards,” said Ms Gloria Haguma, the awards’ Head of Communications.
The ASFAs is an award event and celebration of fashion in Uganda and Africa that was started by recently appointed CÎROC Uganda Brand Ambassador, Brian Ahumuza. The annual celebration awards were started in 2013 by the Abryanz Franchise with the objective of recognising the movers and shakers within the fashion industry that are setting the trends in Uganda.
The awards have 25 categories and over 500 nominees this time round and have transcended borders to become a continental event. Voting opened at exactly midnight on October 28, 2016 and will be done via website, social media and SMS for the 35% public vote. It closes on December 8, 2016.
The 2016 ASFAS is slated for December 9, 2016 at the Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Ball Room starting at exactly 6pm under the theme, “Dress to Inspire”.
