Abba Marcus Mayanja, the son of Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone, has shocked the public with revelations about his strained relationship with his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Prossy Mayanja.

In a candid response to a follower’s question on social media, Abba disclosed the reasons behind his decision to distance himself from them.
“Never have I seen such irresponsible parents like my grandies. I lost two uncles because of them,” Abba stated, expressing deep disappointment.

He further revealed troubling comments allegedly made by his grandparents against his family.
“My grandparents are evil people. They once told me and my siblings that if my father were to die, we would be left with nothing, and that my mom would sell tomatoes in the street to take care of us,” he said.
Abba refrained from sharing further details but hinted that there was more to the story.

“I don’t even want to relate with them, and the reason for that is a story for another day,” he added.
The revelation follows a similar outburst earlier this year from Abba’s mother, Daniella Atim, who criticized her mother-in-law for failing to support her son, Jose Chameleone, appropriately.
The accusations have stirred significant debate online, with many fans expressing their opinions about the ongoing family drama.
Despite the controversy, Abba continues to focus on his own career and aspirations, distancing himself from the shadows of his grandparents’ actions.
This story highlights the deep familial rift within one of Uganda’s most prominent entertainment families, leaving many to wonder if reconciliation is possible in the future.
