This will be a year to remember for Ugandan music producer and writer Matovu Ronald alias Ronie On This One.
As the country kicked-off the year with good news of reopening the entertainment industry, it was a supplement for Ronie On This One who had just bagged a nomination in the 2022 Forty under 40 Africa Awards.
The multiple-banger-producer, CEO Reach A Hand Uganda Humphrey Nabimanya, and National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu (Bobi Wine) were the only representatives from the ‘Pearl of Africa’ in this year’s edition.
In March, Ronie emerged victorious in the ‘Music and Entertainment’ category beating some fabled nominees from different African countries.
Ronie celebrated together with Bobi Wine who won in the category of governance and government agencies.
After being announced the winner at the awarding event that went down at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra Ghana, Ronie rushed to social media to share the good news with his fans and followers.
“Congratulations to me for making Uganda proud. I scooped an Award in the @fortyu40africa awards last night in Ghana in the category of music and entertainment. Thanks so much my team and everyone that voted for me God above all,” Ronie’s Instagram post read.
For one to qualify for nomination, he/she must be a citizen of any of the 55 African nations, living on the continent or in the Diaspora.
The awards categories cover a wide range of all the various sectors you can think of, ranging from banking and finance, energy, family business, agriculture, theatre and arts, journalism, fashion, law, sports, event management, health, technology and innovation amongst others.
They are purposed to recognize and celebrate 40 emerging leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate or impact personally and/ or professionally through their exceptional leadership.
The Forty under 40 Africa Awards joins Ronie’s ‘fattened’ trophy closet that is already endowed with multiple of other awards’ trophies.
The multi-talented Ronie has had a couple-of music craft hailing from his magical hands both as a producer and writer.
Wire Wire by Bebe Cool, Nkuloga by Grenade Official, Feeling by Bebe Cool and Rude Boy, Mateeka by Jose Chameleone, Semyekozo by Eddy Kenzo, and many others.
Congratulations again Ronie and we wish you the best in your endeavors!
