Ugandan singer and songwriter Alexander Bagonza, popularly known as A Pass, is set to hold his maiden concert on January 31, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The event, dubbed “A Pass Live in Concert,” was officially launched at a press briefing held on Thursday, January 16, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The concert launch, hosted by media personality Douglas Lwanga, was graced by fellow artists, performers, sponsor representatives, and the media.
Known for his lyrical versatility, often expressing a range of emotions and energies through his music— from love and personal experiences, to vibrant vibes, A Pass was the perfect definition of a performer fired up for a landmark event.
“We started rehearsals in November, continued in December, and we’re still rehearsing in January. That already shows you that I’ll give everything on stage— it’s going to be a beautiful experience,” A Pass remarked.
“When people come to experience a concert, you have to give them their money’s worth. I’m going to be there to deliver something beautiful, and my fans are going to enjoy this show, because I intend to give everything on that stage,” A Pass added.
Some of the songs A Pass is expected to perform include hits like “Tuli Kubigere,” “Didadada,” “Gamululu,” “Memories,” “Chupa ku Chupa,” “Guliwao,” “Mariana,” and “Wuuyo,” among others.
During the event, I&M Bank Uganda was also unveiled as the official banking partner for the concert.
Raymond Kakuru, the Events and Brands Officer at I&M Bank noted that as a bank, they are happy to be the bank partners for the A Pass Live in Concert event, as it aligns with their vision of providing customers with enriching experiences, as well as connecting with them outside the banking hall.
“With the back-to-school season upon us, coming immediately after the festive season, we understand the stress these times come with, and this event will give people a chance to unwind and enjoy a memorable night of music,” Kakuru said.
“And as a customer-centric bank, we pride in understanding our customers’ challenges, and coming up with solutions. It’s against that background that we introduced a loan repayment holiday campaign, that started on December 1st, 2024, and is running all the way till February 28, 2025. This initiative allows customers to take a break from loan payments for this period. We look forward to sharing in the fun at the A Pass Live in Concert with our customers,” Kakuru added.
Tickets for the A Pass Live in Concert are on sale, with VIP tickets going for Shs 150,000 (cash) and Shs 120,000 via MTN MoMo, while a table of eight goes for Shs 3 million.
