In what many are calling the wedding of the year, Lubwama Eric Michael, the founder of KUNTA, and Engineer Nantongo Irene Catherine sealed their love in a breathtaking ceremony at the historic Dromoland Castle in Ireland on July 28, 2025.

More than just a celebration of matrimony, the event was a reflection of their extraordinary journey together—marked by ambition, achievement, and a shared vision for global impact.
Set against the regal backdrop of one of Ireland’s most exclusive venues, the wedding was a private, invite-only affair attended by close friends and family from around the world, including Uganda, Germany, the UK, Sweden, and beyond. Guests were treated to a week-long experience that included guided tours of Ireland’s iconic sites, such as the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren—locations famously featured in blockbuster Hollywood films.

The grandeur of the ceremony even drew the attention of Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTE, which covered the story. Their wedding is set to be featured on national television, cementing its place as a landmark event.
While the extravagance of the wedding—where a single meal cost an estimated UGX 1.1 million and rooms went for over UGX 21 million per night—was striking, it merely mirrored the scale of what the couple has built together.
Eric, the CEO of KUNTA Productions and Zoran Construction, is a formidable figure in both the media and construction sectors. KUNTA operates across four countries in East Africa and is now setting up shop in Ireland. With a client roster that includes global powerhouses like Coca-Cola, MTN, the United Nations, European Union, and the World Bank, KUNTA has established itself as a major player in marketing and content creation.
Eric’s other company, Zoran Construction, boasts an equally elite portfolio with clients such as the American Government and EY (Ernst & Young). Together, his companies employ over 537 professionals and span industries and continents.
On the other side of this dynamic duo is Irene, a highly accomplished Ugandan engineer with three degrees in Energy and Chemical Engineering. She currently works as an innovation specialist at ESB, Ireland’s national electricity generation and trading company. Her technical expertise and leadership in one of Ireland’s most critical sectors speak volumes of her capabilities and influence.
Eric and Irene’s partnership extends beyond their personal lives. Professionally, they represent a perfect synergy—an engine of innovation, entrepreneurship, and impact. Their residence in Ireland further reflects their global lifestyle and aspirations.
Their influence is set to grow even further with the upcoming launch of NYOTA BIGI, a Tanzanian talent search show inspired by the Got Talent franchise. Partnered with Vodacom (Vodafone) and Serengeti Breweries (Diageo), the project builds on the viral success of Uganda’s Yolesa Ekitone, another brainchild of KUNTA. It’s another step in Eric’s broader vision to elevate talent across Africa.

By choosing Dromoland Castle—a location previously favored by celebrities such as David Beckham and Rory McIlroy—Eric and Irene not only honored their love but also made a powerful statement about who they are and what they represent.
Their union is a modern love story built on shared values, mutual respect, and a tireless pursuit of excellence. It’s a tale that crosses continents and industries, inspiring many who see in them not just a couple in love, but two leaders creating an empire rooted in purpose.
Their story is far from over—but for now, this fairytale wedding is a beautiful milestone in a life of extraordinary chapters yet to come.
