Kim Kardashian’s former bodyguard claims the star’s gunpoint robbery ordeal in Paris was “totally an inside job”.
Steve Stanulis said he “isn’t surprised” the reality TV star was targeted by a criminal gang – because Kanye and the Kardashian family are “very lax” when it comes to security.
The reality star was left “badly shaken” when two masked men dressed as police officers broke into her apartment in Paris in the early hours of Monday morning.
The gang stole jewellery worth $10million including Kim’s huge diamond engagement ring.
Speaking to Australian radio station KIIS 1065, Stanulis said: “It was totally an inside job guys, the way the whole thing it unfolded it was too clean.
“When I say inside job, it’s either somebody from their camp or somebody from the hotel.
“They got into a room when the only security guard was out, and they knew where the jewellery was.
“It was the perfect opportunity on every level.”
The former Kardashian bodyguard claims he isn’t surprised something like this has happened.
He claims Kim and Kanye are “very lax” about their security – even when he was their minder.
He told radio duo radio duo Kyle & Jackie O: “I’d be waiting for Kanye to come out a restaurant.
“He’d come out with a couple of buddies, there wouldn’t be room for me in the car so he’d tell me to get a taxi.”
He added: “When you follow them in New York he likes you 10 paces behind. If somebody tackles you, I’m not going to get there to stop it.”
Stanulis praised Kim’s under-fire bodyguard Pascal Duvier , saying: “Pascal is awesome. Pascal would be the guy I would hire.”
But he criticised the celebrity couple for failing to invest in more security.
He said: “In one breath you’re flashing around a ring that’s with millions of dollars, but you don’t want to spend 3-400 bucks to hire an off duty cop to put outside your door while pascal’s out with the girls?”
Stanulis’ suspicions echo those of French authorities who also believe the robbery may have been an inside job.
According to Page Six, a source claims investigators believe the raiders may have known the whereabouts of the reality star from an employee at the hotel or someone in her team.
