“When elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers,” goes an old adage. At least that is what is expected on Tuesday evening when league reigning champions, Kampala Capital City Authority FC host Express Football Club at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The fixture comes at a time when both teams have just returned back to their winning ways with the Kasasiro Boys recovering from a 2-1 loss to Onduparaka FC to beat The Saints FC by 1-0 on Tuesday last week before crushing Bul FC by 3-0 in their weekend game.
New comer at the Yellow boys’ camp, striker Robert Ssentongo opened his account on his debut against Bul on Saturday with a brace and will be the man to watch when Alex Gitta’s men make a shot trip to Lugogo.
On the other hand, the Red Eagles recovered from a 1-0 loss to Bul to upset Uganda Cup champions, Vipers Sports Club with a 1-0 victory on Friday last week with Derrick Tekko being the man on target.
Express’ striker Herman Wasswa will be looking forward to turn his firing boots against his former bosses who ditched him this summer before he joined the Wankulukuku based camp where he has already scored twice.
KCCA are currently top of the 16-team log with 15 points from 6 games while rivals Express are 4th with 11 points (level with a second and third placed SC Villa and Soana respectively but goal difference separates them) from a similar number of games.
