By Robert K Circles

Six time league record champions Express Football Club have edged two time league winner Vipers Sports Club by 1-0 in a game played at the heart of Kampala at Nakivubo Stadium on Friday evening in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).

The Red Eagles recovered from a Tuesday league 1-0 defeat against Jinja based side Bul FC at Wankulukuku to beat the Uganda Cap reigning champions who only managed a one-all draw against JMC Hippos on the road to Bugembe Stadium on the same day.

Derrick Tekko’s first strike was all Alex Gitta’s side needed to defeat the Kitende based club who host their home games from Nakivubo.

This is the second loss for Coach Abdullah Mubiru’s men who now fall to 5th place with 9 points from six matches while Express moved to third place with 11 points from a similar number of games, behind a second placed SC Villa on goal difference but have also played a game less.
