There was a chaotic moment on the touchline during the Wankulukuku derby between Express FC and Lweza FC on Friday at Muteesa II Memorial Stadium as Alex Gitta and his coaching counterpart Wasswa Bbosa disagreed on tactics.
Gitta, whose CAF A class licence papers put him in the position of head coach, above Wasswa Bbosa almost cost the Red Eagles maximum points on the opening day of the Azam Uganda Premier league as the two gave out different instructions to the players. The two clashed as fans watched their team beat Lweza by 2-1 courtesy of Herman Wasswa’s brace that toppled Karim Ndugwa’s earlier to Ibrahim Kirya’s side.
“I’m happy Express managed to win its first opening game in many years but I’m frustrated my boys didn’t play according to the script because they didn’t fully follow my instructions,” Gitta quoted by local newspaper the Daily Monitor.
Apparently, Gitta had relegated Bbosa to the U-17 side midweek and elevated Douglas Bamweyana as his new deputy.
