Azam Uganda Premier League champions (AUPL) Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club pipped Vipers Sports Club 1-0 to win the FUFA Super Cup on Sunday afternoon at Muteesa II Memorial Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Passionate fans braved the Sunday afternoon heavy down pour to witness the highly entertaining encounter as Vipers’ Abdullah Mubiru faced off with his former bosses of KCCA.
After a virgin first half on a soggy ground, new recruit Geoffrey Sserunkuuma headed home in the 63rd minute of the game from 2016 MVP Joseph Ochaya’s well laid cross.
The tie between the league champions (KCCA) and the Uganda Cup winners (Vipers) curtain raised the 2016/2017 AUPL season that officially kicks off on Friday 19th, August.
