KCB Bank Uganda to close all its branches over the weekend.

KCB Bank Uganda is set to upgrade its core banking system to improve its banking services; the upgrade will see the bank temporarily close down all its branches across the country over the weekend.

The upgrade is being undertaken at group level in all KCB branches across the region.

According to Mathais Muhimbisa, the Executive Director KCB Bank Uganda, the bank will close its branches beginning this Friday afternoon till Sunday to allow the bank upgrade its core banking system.

“The upgrade from T24R08 to T24R14 core banking system is expected to provide customers with a simpler, enhanced and seamless banking experience to customers across all KCB branches across the region in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and South Sudan.

“To facilitate this transition all branches will be closed on Friday 12 th August 2016 from 3:00pm and Sunday 14th August to allow us upgrade our core banking system,” noted Muhimbisa in a statement. “Normal operations will resume on Monday 15 th August 2016 at 8:00 am.”

Customers will however, be able to make cash withdrawals at all ATMs across the country, Point of Sale cards payments will also be available. “Customers can assess other banking services through KCB mobi (*244#) and Internet banking channels.”
