Musician Charles Kanyi aka Jaguar is happy that his dad has finally quit the bottle.
Last weekend, he visited his dad at Serenity Springs Rehabilitation Centre where he had been undergoing treatment.
David Kanyi, 60, was admitted at the centre about three months ago after he confessed to being an alcoholic for the past 15 years.
“I am happy that for once, I have had a constructive conversation with my father. I am grateful to Serenity Springs and the people who talked to my dad until he accepted to join a rehabilitation centre. I am happy that we can now go home,” said Jaguar.
Jaguar confessed that growing up, his father used to drink daily from 8am to 10pm.
“We were not united as a family because of his alcoholism but he is now very okay,” said Jaguar.
On his part, Kanyi admitted to being addicted to alcohol. “Those affected should enroll to rehab centres since they can be helped. The lessons you get here can help you lift your lives and drop alcoholism,” said Kanyi.
Last year, Jaguar withdrew a Toyota Corolla vehicle he had bought his father due to his drunkenness.
