While doing their usual rounds, police managed to impound over 400 cars that had been stolen from other parts of the world and shipped to Uganda among which was Leila Kayondo’s BMW. The car which she had received as a gift from SK Mbuga back in 2011 was impounded and tagged as stolen.

Speaking about the incident for the first time, Mbuga said that he gave Leila the stolen car without knowing that it was stolen. He revealed that he bought it from someone who had also bought it from a friend that he trusted. He also said that he has the valid documentation to prove it.

In addition, SK Mbuga revealed that all cars that leave Europe are checked by Interpol and if it was stolen, no one would have let it through to Uganda.

Leila Kayondo has since turned to Boda Bodas and lifts from her close friend Hellen Lukoma after losing the 60 million shillings car.

We will keep you posted.
