Leo Adraa named Onduparaka FC coach

By Robert Kayindi James

Newly promoted Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) side Onduparaka Football Club have named former South Sudan national team coach Leo Adraa as their new head tactician ahead of the new season.

Adraa replaces Allan Kabonge who guided the Arua based side to their promotion to the topflight from the FUFA Big League despite losing the final against Kirinya Jinja SS.

Onduparaka could not retain Kabonge as head coach due to his insufficient qualifications in regard to the demands by FUFA.

Meanwhile, Adraa had just resigned from his position as South Sudan interim coach over nonpayment issues. With him comes a plethora of experience having previously coached at SCOUL, Express before leaving for South Sudan. While in the young nation, he managed Malakia and Atalabara.

Reports around the club also revealed that he beat off competition from Harunah Mawa (SC Victoria University coach) and Express FC’s Alex Gitta to win the job.
