Exposed: How Petrocity Fuel Station Naalya is Cheating Customers?

Petrocity fuel station, Naalya

By Eric Kamara

If anyone reading this has ever thought about buying(and/or has actually bought) fuel from Petrocity Naalya, I have some free advice: PLEASE DON’T. That particular station is manned by fraudsters who have tried to defraud me twice.

Here is how the scam goes… You pull up to the pump and inform the attendant that you want fuel worth 100,000UGX. The attendant acknowledges your request and proceeds to give you fuel worth UGX 20,000 or in some cases UGX 10,000. You will then emphasise the actual amount you wanted and he or she will say, “Sorry, let me top up”. He or she then gives you fuel “worth” UGX 80,000 or UGX 90,000 as the case may be.

If you are inattentive, you will drive away thinking that you have got your full money’s worth but if you pay close attention, you will notice that rather than resetting the pump to 0UGX, the attendant simply continues from where they had stopped and therefore shortchanges you by UGX 20,000 or UGX 10,000.

The first time this happened to me, I got out of the car and made such a fuss that the manager came to the pump and asked the attendant to give me the additional UGX 20,000 worth of fuel.

Today this happened again, and as soon as I came out of the car and started complaining, the attendant was quick to apologise, profusely I must add, and quickly made good on her “error” saying that it wouldn’t happen again. Her supervisor was standing right there and didn’t say a single word during the whole exchange. As I drove off, I saw the two of them smiling conspiratorially through my rear view mirror.

Congratulations Petrocity. You have turned a once loyal customer into an enemy.
