Vivo Energy Uganda has installed piped gas at bless a child foundation, a non-profit organization that is committed to providing treatment and care for children living with cancer in Uganda.

In fulfilling part of its corporate social responsibility, Vivo Energy Uganda, the distributor of Shell products in Uganda, has installed piped gas at bless a child foundation, a non-profit organization that is committed to providing treatment and care for children living with cancer in Uganda.

The home provides shelter, food, education and care for the children while they receive their cancer treatment at the various cancer treatment centers.

Bless a child was identified by Shell Gas Tokosa Food Festival as a beneficiary partner for the event proceeds from the CEO cook off pledges and 10% of ticket sales.

On top of the Shell gas and the cash donation, Vivo Energy staff also donated other items such as, clothing, food and books among others, to the children.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Vivo Energy MD Hans Paulsen said that Vivo Energy believes that the Foundation is a worthy cause whose day to day activities of nurturing the sick children will be enhanced with the Shell Gas. “The essence of the Shell Gas brand is in igniting love every day. We are honoured to bring the good times to the Bless a Child Foundation home,” said Hans.

“I plead with you to make good use of Gas from Vivo Energy and stop using any form of charcoal or firewood for cooking, this will help save the environment in which you live,” he said.

Hans further noted that Vivo Energy is actively involved in community investment programmes where it operates, these include donations of Shell gas to organisations like bless a child foundation, solar lamps to primary children in rural areas and road safety programmes for pupils as well as commercial drivers.

The children and staff of the foundation expressed extreme gratefulness to Vivo Energy staff for their gesture.
