The Uganda national female football team, the She Cranes have booked a friendly tie with neighbours Kenya. The international friendly match between the two nations is slated for 3rd July 2016 in Kisumu.
The development was confirmed by the local football governing body (FUFA) who have been very keen on developing women’s soccer in the country with the FUFA Women Elite league that started in 2015.
Speaking about the friendly tie, the She Cranes head coach Majidah Nantanda said; “The friendly game will be good for players’ motivation. After a tireless period of hard work in the FUFA Women Elite League, they will feel rewarded for their efforts,” as quoted on the federation’s website.
The Kenyans eliminated Algeria in the last qualifiers after a 3-3 aggregate thanks to the away goal rule with a one all draw at home and 2-2 away.
