KCCA FC vs Vipers SC

By Robert Kayindi James

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club, the 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions, have been knocked out of the 2016 Uganda Cup despite a 1-0 win over rivals Vipers Sports Club on Sunday evening at Buikwe Stadium.

Following a barren first half, Derrick Nsibambi scored a 78th minute goal that eventually became the match winner for the Kasasiro Boys who failed to overturn Wednesday’s first leg 2-0 loss to George ‘Best’ Nsimbe’s side.

Coach Mike Mutebi’s side will now have to wait for another season to win a local double after bowing out of the annual tournament on a 2-1 aggregate.

On the other hand, the Kitende based side who host their home games from Buikwe book a slot in the finals that are slated for 18th-June-2016 at Nakivubo Stadium where they will play Onduparaka FC.
