Sports Club Villa have today continued with their season unbeaten run against Jinja based sides as they edged Sadolin Paints FC by 2-1 in a game played at Nakivubo Stadium on Friday evening in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
The Jogoos took a halftime lead through Godfrey Lwesibawa who broke the deadlock in the 39th minute of the game with a cool finish from Mike Sserumaga’s cross from the right flank that striker Umar Kasumba missed on an attempt with a bicycle kick.
Six minutes into the second half, Sserumaga doubled the lead for the hosts while Nasser Muzamir pulled one back for the visitors in the 70th minute.
The victory elevated SC Villa into the fifth spot on the league table with 44 points from 28 games while Sadolin remained 9th on the log with 39 points. The game played today implies that all teams have played 28 games and two are left for each to go with the league set to resume on Tuesday 24th May-2016 with eight fixtures set to be played on match day 29.
