One good turn deserves another! Following her continued donations to Mulago hospital, humanitarian singer Angella Katatumba has been rewarded. The ‘Mulago Yaffe’ singer has been appointed the face of Uganda Cancer Institute. Her appointment was announced during the launch of Cancer Awareness Magazine at Sheraton Hotel on Friday last week.
Speaking at the launch of the Cancer Awareness Magazine under the theme “Awamu Join the Cancer Fight”, the Uganda Cancer Institute Director Dr. Jackson Orem and the Professor Fred Okuku of Uganda Cancer Institute at Mulago, confirmed Angella’s appointment after critically observing her Mulago Yaffe project, previous donations and commitment to the betterment of Mulago Hospital.
In attendance was the Comprehensive Community Cancer Program coordinator Dr. Noleb Mugisha among others who highly credited Angella as the perfect personality to lead all Ugandan awareness campaigns in the fight against cancer at the institute.
Meanwhile, the singer has been invited to perform at the United Nations first ever Humanitarian Summit slated for 23rd and 24th May, 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey.
