Hakim Mage, an Express Football Club fan is bedridden at Mulago Hospital after he was stoned by Vipers’ fans on Tuesday this week at Buikwe Stadium. The incident happened during Vipers’ 1-0 victory over the Red Eagles in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
“One of our fans Hakim Magembe was hit with a stone on the head by Vipers fans in Buikwe who also vandalised the vehicle (Mark II) of former FUFA lawyer Mr. Alex Luganda on Tuesday,” reads part of a statement released by the club on their official Facebook page.
The club is now calling upon sweet Ugandans from across the football fraternity and nation at large to help save a life through contributions.
“He is now admitted at Mulago Hospital and needs our help. I kindly request you to first save his dear life and ask other question later when he is fine. If you have any help please kindly send to 0753 006 112 (Ssemanda Bashir) a relative to Hakim,” further reads the statement.
As of now, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) and the Uganda Premier League (UPL) Secretariat are yet to speak about the unfortunate matter.
A similar incident happened when Vipers SC hosted SC Villa at the same grounds in a game that ended in a 2-2 draw.
