Musician Bobi Wine is spearheading yet another charity drive. Bobi has started a campaign to have an Accident and emergency unit constructed at Nkozi hospital in Masaka. This was after he presented the idea to the hospital administrators who welcomed it.
“With the improvement of Masaka road, accidents have increased and Nkozi hospital receives 15 to 20 cases a week. There is NO Accident and Emergency Unit facility at the Hospital so most or all serious cases are always referred to Mulago or other Kampala hospitals. With their very old ambulance vehicle and of course the distance, many accident victims die along the way. The ’Friends Of Nkozi’ want to build an Accident And Emergency Unit facility at Nkozi Hospital and it would cost approximately Ugx 655million.” He explained.
“We shall have a Friends Of Nkozi Marathon on the 18th of June headed by Cardinal Wamala starting from the equator to the Hospital and there after we shall have a concert by Myself and other artistes. However, that is not enough. I am appealing to all of you friends to get involved in this noble cause with all you can.” He added.
