Gravity Omutujju

BigEyeUg‘s Seguya Musa caught up with luga-flow rapper  Gravity Omutujju for a quick chat. Here are the excerpts:

Who is Gravity Omutujju?

Gravity Omutujju is a Uganda’s number one rapper and Luga flow artist from Trouble Entertainment Music Group.

How many artistes are signed to Trouble Ent?

We are only four artistes – Zil Zil, RPG, Eva Kay and me.

What project are you working on?

I am working on a song called Tunyumize. Its audio is already out and the video coming soon.

We heard you are going to stage a show, when and where?

Yes, I am going to do a show in October. I haven’t confirmed the concert dates but it’s going to be called Tunyumize concert.

What is your relationship with Nabbi Omukazi

She is just a friend. We only recorded a song together and nothing more.

Should we expect more collabos this year?

No, I am not planning on doing any collabos this year.

Are you worried your fans will boycott your shows over Tubonga Nawe?

They can’t boycott my shows. I didn’t appear in the song but rather I performed on the rallies, so there is no reason to boycott my shows.

When are you unveiling your woman?

Just know she is there and I am contented with her.

What songs do you enjoy by Ugandan Artistes?

I enjoy listening to Pastor Bugembe’s song called Daala, it is a very good song.

How did it feel winning an award at the recently concluded Zzina Awards?

It wasn’t a surprise. I was expecting it, I know I am the best Luga Flow rapper in the country.

Who’s the next best rapper after you?

Fefe Bussi is the only other talented luga-flow rapper that I know in the music industry

Any international artiste you would wish to collaborate with?

Yes, I would wish to do a song with Sarkodie. He is a good artiste.

Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

I see myself very far, I can’t even explain. I will be a very big artiste both locally and internationally.

What has been the worst moment in your career so far?

My worst moment was back in 2010. I paid an emcee at a bar called Password to let me perform but he ate my money and didn’t give me a chance to perform.

What is the highlight of your career so far?

The highlight of my career was the song I redid for Paul Kafeero –Walumbe Zaaya. It was a mega hit yet I didn’t expect it to get such a good reception.

Any advice to the upcoming rappers?

My advice to the upcoming rappers is that they should respect people especially singers they have found in the industry. They should also learn to be disciplined and God fearing.

Any last words to your fans?

They should keep supporting me, I won’t disappoint them.
